Happier Homes Parenting Consultant
Janice E. Williams, Ph.D., M.A., R.N.
Welcome to my Happier Homes Parenting Consultant Practice
Everyone has memories of their childhood and their home-life. As a child, you had no control over the circumstances or the quality of your life. But when you become a parent, you are now in charge of providing memory making experiences and a home-life for your child or children.
Parents have hopes and dreams for their children and themselves. However, at times life moves so quickly that one can lose focus. Being a parent is more than a walk in the park; it is more like a marathon.
I can help you keep on track with what you identify as important characteristics in your home such as your values, traditions, roles, etc.
My name is Dr. Janice E. Williams. I am a clinical psychologist and a registered nurse. For over 25 years, I have worked as a psychologist with children, adolescents and adults. I not only focused on their primary concerns which brought them into therapy, but also recognized and addressed the state of their physical health as well. I believe that the state of one’s physical and emotional health is inseparable; it influences your relationship with your spouse or partner; your relationship with your children; your relationship with other adults in the family.
Although I use the knowledge and experience gained from both professions, my Happier Homes Parenting Consultant practice is not therapy. As a consultant, my role includes helping you identify areas of concern, manage issues, problem solve, provide information, consider ways to navigate those little bumps in the road, and help you adjust to transitions in your life.
I recommend we have three initial conferences. The conferences can be either one or one and a half hours long. Conferences are designed to identify your needs and establish a plan to work them out. Subsequent conferences are based on your needs and circumstances. During follow-up conferences we review and evaluate plans established and or implemented.
